Blue 9 Burger Combo - Double Cheeseburger, Thousand Island dressing, lettuce, tomato
For West Coast transplants living in NYC – you’ll be pleased with this burger joint. It’s the most similar to In-N-Out, both in taste and price. At $4.75 for a double cheeseburger, it’s still almost twice the cost of In-N-Out (a double double costs $2.99), but compare that to a double shack burger from Shake Shack, which costs $7.25. The burger patties are slightly thicker than In-N-Out, but the Thousand Island dressing, along with some grilled onions, comes very close to satisfying any In-N-Out craving. Next time I would definitely go for a single patty – the price was so cheap I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I like thinner patties and one patty would be more than enough for me. The fries were excellent – they’re hand-cut just like In-N-Out, and in my opinion, taste better. For some reason they don’t get as soggy and retain a deeper fresh potato flavor.
Another plus? They’re open really late – until 5am on Friday and Saturday. Doesn’t help me since I live in Jersey, but great for New Yorkers looking for a late night bite.
